For some reason, I'm able to get to the text of this one in Safari (although I can't promise to be able to repeat that result) so I'm duplicating the topic as originally posted by Danielle:

"Friends,

In a trust matter, where 30 days notice is required, is it correct that we do not add 5 days for mailing? I’m reading Probate Code § 1215(e) to mean that notice is complete upon mailing without adding any time for mail. Is that the correct reading?

I know it’s a very basic question, but it’s never been an issue before. (i.e. I’ve always been able to give at least 35 days notice.)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers"

From CEB:

"Mailing is complete when the notice or other paper is deposited in the mail, postage prepaid, addressed to the person to whom it is mailed." Prob C §1215 (c)-(e).

However, you may want to double check your local rules.

Hope this helps.
